What is the Best Animated Superhero Movie?

I believe that animated superhero movies are under-rated and deserve to be noticed as much as any of the superhero movies. I am here to answer the question, “What is the best animated superhero movie?”

I am a huge superhero nerd and have seen many of the superhero movies. When it comes to animated films, my favourite and by far the most well rounded movie is “Superman and Batman: Public enemies.”

There are many reasons why this movie is so good and I will state a few here:
1) The animation style is crisp and very appealing to the eye.
2) This movie is host to a plethora of superheroes and villains. I love seeing them all battling it out an all-out brawl for supremacy.
3) I love to see the fact that the two most well-known heroes of the DC universe are seen as criminals and are faced down by the same people they trusted and fought beside.

What is the best animated superhero movie? The answer to this is simple, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies takes the gold!

Best Superpower Anime Showcasing Superheroes

Justice League? Nope. Teen Titans? Not quite. I’m thinking something a bit more authentic, something that can’t squeeze into the category of American cartoon, but rather is authentic anime made in Japan. I’m thinking Tiger and Bunny.

Tiger and Bunny is made up of 25 episodes and 2 films which were produced by Bandai Visual, Sunrise, and MBS. It premiered in Canada and the United States on October 2nd 2012. Tiger and Bunny focuses on the superhero duo Wild Tiger and Barnaby Brooks as they defend the city from criminals and an evil organization known as Ouroboros.

Though Tiger and Bunny didn’t have the most original powers for superheroes, it did have original ideas of how the business world and media may capitalize on superheroes. Each superhero was sponsored by companies and literally ranked/graded among each other by the media who aired every one of the superhero’s confrontations with criminals. The plot greatly intensifies, yet it is still paced very well with excellent character development and plot twists.

Overall, I liked that in this anime it didn’t so much matter who had the best superpowers. What truly mattered was the different outlook on superheroes as they compete against each other to do their job and put food on the table rather than just fight for the same idea of justice as one another. Throw in the excellent animation and soundtracks we have come to expect from Bandai and Sunrise, as well as notorious voice actors like Yuri Lowenthal and Jamieson Priceand you have this 5 star anime.

Can you think of any authentic anime that can compete with Tiger and Bunny for the Best Superpower Anime showcasing superheroes?

Which is the best of the Spiderman Movies?

There have been many Spiderman Movies created, but which one is the best? It is time for you to make the call!

In this blog post I will compare the Toby Maguire trilogy with the Andrew Garfield movie because we know it is the actors that make excellent superhero movies.

Toby Maguire plays an okay Peter Parker but misses the mark when confronted with the Venom symbiote, where he becomes the “Emo” stereotype. Also as Spiderman he doesn't really exhibit the cocky attitude very well. Don’t get me wrong he does have a little bit but not enough to make excellent Spiderman Movies. I will say I still enjoyed the trilogy of Toby Maguire Spiderman Movies. It had a fantastic amount of action and special effects.

Now for Andrew Garfield, he has become a great Spiderman. He has shown an excellent amount of sarcasm especially when he confronts the man with the knife and totally owns him. He has also shown how awkward Peter Parker was before he became Spiderman. The fight scenes in “The Amazing Spider-Man” were amazing and should be the envy of all superhero movies.

I have stated my opinion but I really want to hear what you have to say! Which is the best of the Spiderman Movies?

Comic book prices and Comic book values, what are yours worth?

Many of us have stacks of the best comic books in our homes, whether they be stored in order in our bedroom or stashed away in your parent’s attic. But have you ever about comic book values?

Of course, there are some basics to determining comic book prices. These include:

        -          Stationary marks,
        -          Wears and tears
        -          Bended pages
        -          Missing Pages

These all lower the value much more than you may realize. Even a comic that has never been opened is not as valuable as a comic that is still in its original packaging.

See, comic book collectors don’t always want the comics just to read, they want it to complete their collection, and no collection can really be completed if only one comic isn’t in its package.

So why should you care about collectors if comic books can be sold quicker at a comic book store? It’s because comic book values are in the eye of the beholder. A storefront will want your comic so that they can sell it and make a profit. A collector actually needs your comic specifically. Unlike storefronts, they won’t settle for any other comics, and are prepared to lose money on the purchase. Ebay and http://www.comicbookclassifieds.com/ are examples of places you go to help collectors find you.

Just remember, research your comic book values! There is nothing worse than selling your comics at a local comic book store, then finding someone else is willing to pay more than double.

Online Superhero Games for Kids and their links

There has been one online superhero games for kids that has really intrigued me, and that game is Marvel Super Hero Squad Online.

I like this game because it is free and it is fun. You can play it with people all over the internet or by yourself. This is a game where you can battle enemies with any Marvel hero you can think of, there are over 50 characters to choose from so there is no shortage of different characters. This game has more heroes than most superhero games that I know of.

This game is a beat them up style where you defeat the enemies then defeat the boss at the end. Through completing missions you will get silver and gold coins. Silver coins give you upgrades, where gold coins can be used to get more characters to use.

This game also features mini games that can be played once you are tired of owning the computer players. Here you can play as Deadpool, She-Hulk, Black Panther, Daredevil, Captain America, Thor, Doctor Strange and Jean Grey in their corresponding mini games. This alternate game play makes sure that there is no shortage of fun for superhero games like this.

This is a great game for kids of all ages and I suggest you check it out if you have a chance. Here is the link https://www.heroup.com/new-visitor/

Deciding which Superhero Games are Best for You

What do “Injustice: Gods among Us”, “Batman: Toxic Chill”, “Lego Batman: The Video Game” and “Little Big Planet” have in common?

You guessed it; they all have Batman… or something dressed up in a Batman costume. Yet no Batman fan would say all these games are on their top 10 superhero games because Injustice is a fighting game, Toxic Chill is a child’s educational game that they can’t even pretend they have heard of, Lego Batman is, well, Lego action, and Little Big Planet is a plat- former that can’t even be called a superhero game.

So if Batman is in four different genres of games and hundreds of other superheroes are in video games all with their own genres, AND some Superhero MMO Games like City of Heroes have original heroes… this becomes quite complicated.

Since every genre of game has experimented with superheroes at some point, you shouldn’t think “I must play this game because this superhero is in it!” but rather ask yourself:
  •  “Would I still like this game if said character wasn’t in it?”
  •  “Do I care how true to the comics or movies the game is?”
  •  “How do gamer companies like IGN rate the game?"

Do you have any methods to aid your decision?

Best Comic Book Art - Review

Comic books have some of the greatest representations of artistic vision. The best comic book art that I have ever seen is in the Ghost Rider comics. More specifically Marc Silvestri is an amazing artist who pulls off one of the best comic book characters: Ghost Rider.

The image below is the Ghost Rider #1 Variant cover – July 2006, this piece of artwork by Marc really brings out the hell aspect of him and shows how epic Ghost Rider can look!

Even though his skull is on fire, the flames don’t overpower the skull which I believe really brings out a lot in his look and shows his determination. This art style really shows that Ghost Rider has some of the best comic book art.

I am a fan of art that doesn't look so real; I prefer art that exaggerates qualities. Like when it comes to ghost rider I want flames everywhere and when you can make a skull face look angry, you have made me a happy man! I find that Ghost rider pull this off nicely and doesn’t make it look ridiculous, this makes Ghost rider one of the best comic book characters for art.

Ghost Rider has my vote, what is the best comic book art in your opinion?

Top Spiderman Movies in the Past 10 Years

Spiderman Movies: (In order of least worldwide gross to highest worldwide gross)

4) The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) $752,216,557:
After the huge success of the other three Spider-man films had, you wouldn’t guess that a reboot of the series would have the lowest grossing of all four, but here we are. Granted, there were many things changed in this film when compared to the original three such as the actors, directors, age of Peter Parker and even the villain, but it is still hard to believe this would place last.

3) Spider-Man 2 (2005): $783,766, 341: Despite placing last of all the three original Spider-Man movies, this movie still made more than double the combined total of all the superhero movies (besides this one) that were also released in 2005 which included Blade: Trinity, and Hellboy.
2) Spider-Man (2002): $821,708,551:In my opinion, nothing beats the original. I find there is more room for character development in the original when the role/responsibility of becoming a superhero is first being taken up, and the original Spider-Man took advantage of that excellently. With that said, this original didn't actually have the highest worldwide gross.

1) Spider-Man 3 (2007): $890,871,626: Statistics shows that movies in this decade have a higher worldwide gross than last decade; however, the newest Spider-Man movie actually placed last. No, this is just a good movie. Who could forget its notorious scenes involving Venom and Peter’s change of attitude, as well as the powerful themes revisited from the first movie such as Sandman’s involvement behind the death of Ben which starts Spider-Man’s journey for justice?

All 4 movies did extremely well in the box office, but does money earned really justify most accurately the order in which the superhero movies are shown? You tell me.

The Best Comic Books in 2000-2012 Top 3

*Warning Spoiler Alert*

This is my top 3 for the best comic books for the 2000-2012,
I am going to list a series of books as opposed to single issues.

1.    My number one choice is Green Lantern: Blackest Night from DC Comics, this series was so well written I could not stop reading it. I love the way they incorporated the entire colour spectrum corps facing off against the absence of colours (Black corps). All the superheroes are in this series, the living fighting the resurrected dead (Black Lanterns). Finally, how can you go wrong with an Orange Lantern Lex Luther fighting a Black Lantern Superman. This series definitely ranks as one of the best comic books of all time.

2.    My number two choice is Fear itself from Marvel Comics, this series brought the Serpent to life and he turned the Marvel universe upside down. I love the weapons that greatly enhance the powers of the wielders created by the Serpent and Odin. The art is amazing as well; it is very pleasing to the eye and has a very modern look. I tip my hat to one of the best comic book authors: Matt Fraction and the amazing illustrators: Stuart Immonen, Wade Von Grawbadger, and Laura Martin.

3.    My number three choice is World War Hulk from Marvel Comics, this series answers the best “who will win in a fight” questions. Everyone knows hulk is strong but at the peak of his power he is nigh unstoppable. Now throw every super hero or villain at him with their full power and see what happens. These fights made this series one of the best comic books I have ever read. The epic sentry vs. hulk fight at the end was an amazing finishing point!

Origin of the Best Superpowers

Have you ever wondered the origins of the best superpowers in existence? Well today is your lucky Day! I am going to show you the origin of one of the most powerful beings, Galactus!

Galactus wasn’t always near omnipotent; he was a man at one point by the name of Galan who lived in an alternate universe on the world of Taa. His universe was ending, so as his final act he flew a ship to the center of the universe to gain knowledge before the end. What he saw was the universe collapsing upon itself before his demise, he was saved by the incarnation of the universe. Then the universe we know was born, and Galan was reborn as Galactus: The World Devourer.

He gained one of the best superpowers, the Power Cosmic:
Virtual omnipotence
Latent omniscience
Reality alteration
Molecular manipulation
Matter manipulation
Energy alteration
Life force manipulation
Cosmic awareness
Telepathy
Telekinesis
and a mastery of butt kicking!

Now Galactus devours the life energy of worlds to sustain his existence, and the powers for superheroes of all types aren't enough to defeat Galactus.

What do you think is Galactus’s purpose in the universe?

Assisting super Powers for Superheroes: Color Kid

Have you ever heard of DC’s Color Kid? He can change the color of anything, allowing him to:

·         Camouflage people
·         Change the color of the sky and ground to confuse opponents
·         Change the chemical nature of things such as kryptonite by changing their color.

Ok, so the ability to change colors isn't on the best superpowers list, and poor little Color Kid will probably never be on a best superpower movies list either, but he may have some potential in combat.

First I want to propose an interesting theory. Color Kid may be able to change regular colors to other colors that our eyes cannot even conceive, similar to a mantis shrimp. This may sound useless, but it may be possible for another superhero to create for him a gun-like gadget or even a space satellite that automatically shoots a massive laser beam guided towards ONLY the new color the moment Color Kid allows that color to exist. Change the color of the enemy and BOOM!

With more skill in changing chemical natures, he may be able to do things such as turn water into green corrosive acid or red hot lava. He may also be able to turn the rocks enemies stand on into quicksand.

Changing Colors may also be worthwhile powers for superheroes that enjoy the company of animals, as a herd of bulls are pretty stable until a bright red target appears.

Lastly, if color kid changes the color of an opponent’s eye to completely black or white, it may affect the target’s sight, possibly even blinding them.

Color Kid. Is he really useless, or did DC miss the potential?

Spiderman Movies, IRL

Pause and imagine for 60 seconds that you are the main character of the Spiderman movies or the main character of movies with Iron Man.

How much of what you imagined actually happened to Peter Parker or Tony Stark in their respective movies?

Take a look at how bad the Spiderman movies would be if it revolved around my life rather than Peter Parker’s.

  1. Like Peter, I would start with making some money through random odd jobs.
  2. Nobody I know is likely to be killed during a crime I end up feeling partly responsible for. Ergo, forget justice, let’s just keep making money.
  3. Due to no distinct villain like a Green Goblin or Lizard causing pleas for a hero, and my stupidly carefree personality; there are only so many buildings I would be able to enjoy swinging around before I end up being discovered and realistically feared by most people.
  4. Feeling bad, I begin to desire to fight for justice. Unfortunately, there are no distinct villains like The Green Goblin, rather unknown/secretive criminals who hide. I would try to help police when I can, but there won’t always be something for me to do, so I’ll keep making money.

This is my incredibly short and vague description of what would likely happen if I were to star in The Superhero Movies such as Spiderman Movies. What would your movie be like?

How to Know What Comic Books to Buy for the Best Comic Book Characters.

When walking into a comic book store, I know it can be stressful to find a comic book that is fun to read with good artwork and an awesome story. Well I will give advice on great comic books that will be a good start to read for new up and coming comic fanatics.

For art lovers out there that want a great looking comic, I suggest the starting with Green Lantern, it has some of the best comic book art in the DC Comics range. The comic book values are very great because you can buy multiple comics in one hardcover collection making it easier to transport and cheaper to purchase.

Green lantern himself is one of the best comic book characters because he represents a hero who goes through hardships like killing a huge amount of the green lantern corps when he is possessed by the fear entity, Parallax. Even through all this he becomes better as a person and as a hero. So I suggest getting the comic Green Lantern: Secret Origin. This comic shows how he becomes green lantern and the trials he must surpass to wield the emerald ring.

I also suggest going with Superman Secret Origins (2010) because you can’t go wrong with Superman. This comic shows his life in Smallville as well as his eventual move to metropolis and his evolution into the Superman we know today. He is by far another of the best comic book characters and it is easy to enjoy his adventures.

What comics do you find most entertaining?
